At the fifth China Freight Industry Awards, COSCON won five gold prizes, including the Best Liner Integrated Services Award, China-American Carrier, China-European/Mediterranean Carrier, China-Japan Carrier (Pan-Asia) and China-Korean Carrier and a silver prize for China-Southeast Asia/Australia and New Zealand Lines, which was the fifth time in a row for COSCON to win multiple awards in a competition organized by the freight industry in China.
COSCO Logistics was awarded No. 1 in all four contests at the fifth China Freight Industry Awards which include “integrated services”, “warehousing management”, “process management” and “coverage of network”.

China COSCO completed all the legal procedures for acquiring 51% interest in COSCO Logistics from COSCO Group, a controlling shareholder.
COSCO Pacific signed a memorandum with Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation, Hanjin Shipping Company Limited and Europe Container Terminals B.V., to jointly construct and operate the Euromax terminal in Maasvlakte port in Rotterdam, Holland.

COSCON was awarded five awards in The Fourth China Shipping Industry Awards in 2004, namely (i) the “Best Shipping Company Golden Wheel Prize”, (ii) “China to the US (west and east coast) service”, (iii) “China to Europe service”, (iv) “China to Korea service” and (v) “Coastal service (Pan Asia)” for its integrated shipping services. Its subsidiary, COSCO International Freight Company Limited, was awarded the “Best Freight Forwarding Service Company Gold Prize”.
COSCO Pacific signed a joint venture contract to acquire a 20% equity interest in Nanjing Longtan Container Limited. The joint venture company commenced operation on 26 August.
COSCON was named “The 2005 Best Carrier for Fast East/East Canada service” by Canadian International Freight Forwarders' Association (CIFFA). This was COSCON's fourth consecutive year of winning the same award.

COSCO Pacific signed an agreement with Ningbo Port Group Ltd. to form joint venture company to develop Berth Number 7 of Beilun Container Terminal Phase IV. COSCO Pacific owns 20% of the equity interest in the joint venture.
COSCON and COSCO International Freight Co., Ltd. (COSFRE) jointly invested and incorporated COSCO South-China International Freight Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen to consolidate the marketing entities in the Southern China region and Hong Kong.

Wei Jiafu, Chairman of China COSCO, was awarded the “Achievement Award in Shipping” by the renowned shipping and trading association in the US, International Propeller Club. It was the first time for International Propeller Club, since its establishment in 1927, to confer this award to the CEO of a shipping company outside the US.
